Job Advertisement: Level 3 1:1 Teaching Assistant (SEND Support) 
Location: High Green Primary School, Sheffield. 
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only 
Contract Length: Fixed-term for 1 year initially (September 2025 – August 2026) 
Salary: SCP 7 

Start Date:  1st September 2025 

Main Role: 
To assist in promoting the learning and personal development of the child you are assigned to, enabling them to access learning in an inclusive and supportive environment. 

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Level 3 Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a child with complex special educational needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to support a child’s access to learning, build their confidence, and help them develop positive relationships within the school environment. 

The successful candidate will: 

• Support the child in developing positive social interactions, building self-esteem and improving emotional wellbeing 

• Have experience of working with children who have social, emotional and/or communication needs 

• Demonstrate a calm, consistent and nurturing approach with effective behaviour management skills 

• Work collaboratively with the class teacher, Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and external professionals to deliver tailored support 

• Be resilient, reflective and committed to meeting the individual needs of the child 

The following is desirable, but not essential: 

• Experience of supporting a child with reactive attachment disorder  

• Knowledge and/or experience of trauma-informed strategies
