Welcome to year 4!

Children in year 4 are taught by Mrs John, the class teacher, and Miss Bedford and Mrs Monkman, the teaching assistants.

Our class topics are Vikings, Our Changing World and Fantastic Beasts. To support these topics, we visit Murton Park (a Viking experience day), Speedwell Cavern and Harry Potter world.

In year 4, we are also responsible for looking after our pet bearded dragon, Ziggy. We have two different monitors each week who are in charge of feeding, bathing and cleaning out Ziggy. He eats live crickets and mealworms so sometimes feeding him is tricky!

To reward good behaviour in year 5, we have enrichment on a Friday afternoon. The children will experience arts and crafts, baking and music, rotated on a half-termly basis to have a go at some activities outside the curriculum.

During year 4 we are also very lucky to have swimming lessons from February to July. We walk down to the swimming pool each week and practice our skills.

Our class charity is ‘Cash for Kids’, a local children’s charity supported by Hallam FM. We will be doing fundraising throughout the year to support this great cause.
