One Drum Workshop and Performance Y2

As you are hopefully aware, our topic next half term is ‘Chocolate’. We have a strong geography and music focus, linking in where chocolate comes from, where Ghana is in the world and learning about music from there.

I have booked for ‘One Drum’ to come in and spend the day with the children. The man who runs the African drumming workshop is from Ghana and is going to teach the children how to play the African drums.

The workshop will be for a full day on Tuesday 23rd January 2018 and we would like to invite you to come and watch your child perform at the end of the workshop to showcase what they have learnt. The performance will be at 3pm in the school hall and we would love it if you can make it. It may last around 30 minutes so if you are unable to attend the performance please be aware that the children will be later out at the end of the day.

We kindly ask for a £5 voluntary contribution towards the days workshop, in order to make this very exciting, educational experience happen. Money will need to be in by Friday 19th January.

I am incredibly excited about this opportunity and will take loads of pictures on the day and put them on our school website.
