In English this half term we have been reading Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and looking at all the different characters.  We wrote about the chocolate room using our senses, what we could hear in there, see, touch, smell and of course taste! The children worked hard using their imaginations to describe what it wold be like to be in the chocolate room staring at the huge chocolate fountain.  We have also been writing some riddles and we have entered them into a poetry competition. The riddles were amazing and we look forward to seeing how they have done in the competition.

After half term we will be continuing to read Charlie and the Chocolate factory and we will be focusing our writing around his adventures.  We will also be concentrating on different types of sentence formation and more sophisticated forms of punctuation.

In maths we have been learning how to tell the time to the nearest five minutes.  We have been investigating 2D shapes and learning about lines of symmetry. We have also been looking at division and sharing out lots of sweets and pizzas slices!

Next we are going to be learning about fractions of shapes and numbers.  We will also be investigating 3D shapes and be revisiting addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Date for your diary:

Wednesday 21st March – Cadbury’s World Trip

We wish you all a relaxing half term.
